I just got back from the Philippines. Had three days in Cebu and a day in Clark. The weather was nice and cloudy. It rained a little- which was heaven, seeing as it rarely rains in Dubai. I spent most of my time in the hotel. Had an amazing spar day in Cebu, had a facial and a full on body massage. It was such a relief to have someone take care of me. I later on had a pot full of ginger tea with honey. Filipinos are such warm and welcoming people. They are always ready to greet one with a smile. The staff surely made sure I felt more than at home.
The hotel in Clark has a casino in it. After having dinner we all headed down to play a couple of games. Initially I was there to be a spectator. After awhile I thought I could just try my luck in the games. I randomly choose one, lost-won-lost and won and eventually lost everything that I had budgeted to spend. I enjoy winning, and it looked like today wasn't my night. It was midnight and I couldn't bare to live the casino without having taken a picture of the first experience in one. One of my colleagues grabbed her phone and snapped two pictures, when I tried to take another picture,one of the employees approached us and told us we were not allowed to take any pictures. He then insisted we delete the picture we had just taken. He didn't want to leave until he was certain that we had really deleted the picture. My colleague later on deleted one of the three pictures we had taken.
That then was my cure to leave the casino. I said my goodnights and left for my room. Back in my room I tossed and turned and wasn't able to fall asleep. This went on until 6am. The suns rays were slowly creeping into my hotel room. I then jumped off the bed, got into my gym wear and headed for the gym! Morning had broken…
